Call for proposals — Electronic Village Online / TESOL’s CALL Section

Posted on behalf of TESOL’s CALL Interest Section

We are excited to invite proposals for another round of the Electronic Village Online (EVO). We would love to have inspiring educators present an online session in EVO 2018.

Since 2001, the Electronic Village Online (EVO) has functioned as a virtual extension of the Electronic Village (EV), a Special Interest group of TESOL’s CALL Interest Section, and provided free online professional development sessions for language teachers world-wide.

The link for proposals is at  http://evosessions.pbworks.com/w/page/118851888/Call_for_Proposals_2018

A training session will be held for all moderators and co-moderators from October 22 to November 19, 2017. During this time moderating teams will create the online spaces for their session and finalize their syllabus with the assistance of the EVO Coordination Team. National TESOL — Electronic Village Online 2017 Call for Proposals – Join Us!

Posted on behalf of National TESOL’s Electronic Village (EVO). For anyone who might be interested but daunted, I participated two years ago. Rather than proposing an idea (and trust me, you need a team to run one of these), I reached out to moderators to see if any groups were interesting in having an additional team member. EVO matched me with an existing team and it was a wonderful, educational experience. It is time consuming, but for anyone considering learning more about online teaching design and pedagogy, or just interesting in sharing some professional knowledge, it’s an invaluable experience. Please consider it!

We are excited to invite proposals for another round of the Electronic Village Online, and we’d love to have inspiring educators present an online session in EVO 2017.

Since 2001, the Electronic Village Online (EVO) has provided free online professional development sessions for language teachers world-wide. This voluntary, open community of teachers, founded by TESOL’s CALL-Interest Section, is looking for inspiring educators who would like to moderate an online session in 2017. With EVO, everyone learns, both those who lead and/or moderate a session and those who participate.

The direct link to our formal Call for Proposals is here. Proposals may be on any topic relevant to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. There will be a training session for all moderators and co-moderators from October 16 to November 13, 2016, during which time moderating teams will create the online spaces for their session and finalize their syllabus with the assistance of the EVO Coordination Team. The actual five-week EVO sessions for this season will take place between January 8 and February 12, 2017.

Please help us recruit potential moderators by distributing this Call for Proposals to your e-list.  Potential moderators will find instructions on how to create a page for their proposal at http://evosessions.pbworks.com/w/page/108561361/Call_for_Proposals_2017. Thank you for helping us spread the word by forwarding to your e-list.

Proposals are due by September 4, 2016.
